  • Our service area currently encompasses a 30 mile radius in Richmond, VA. This generally includes the following counties: Richmond City, Henrico, Hanover, Mechanicsville, Glen Allen, Midlothian, Chesterfield, Chester, Goochland, New Kent

    (please note that it is at the discretion of the provider to determine driving radius based on their specific home location)

    Depending on your location to your specific provider, there may be a $30 additional driving fee. You will be notified at time of booking of any additional fee.

  • Yes.

    The self-pay cost for a twin visit is $300 for a 2-hour consultation and $250 for a 1.5 hour consultation.

  • An IBCLC has completed 90 hours of lactation specific education, 300-1,000 hours of clinical practice depending on professional experience (MD, RN, PT, RD etc.) and the pathway, extensive health science coursework (including 14 specific classes), and passed an international certification exam. An IBCLC provides expert breastfeeding and lactation care.

  • A CLC is someone who has completed approximately 40-50 hours of lactation training, passed a certification exam, and is a counselor of breastfeeding education.

  • IBCLC Lactation Services Only:

    As of November 1st, 2024, we work with the Lactation Network and Wildflower Health.

    The Lactation Network covers Anthem (PPO), Blue Cross Blue Shield (PPO). PNOA plans, and Multiplan carriers.

    Wildflower Health covers Cigna plans.

  • For self-pay lactation services, feeding and swallowing services and postpartum doula services, we can provide you with a “super-bill” that you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.

    You can search the US Department of Health and Human Services for more information regarding what the Affordable Care Act has to say about lactation services.

  • We do accept HSA/FSA cards, as long as they are issued by one of the major card brands (Visa, Discover, Mastercard, or Amex). However, it's also MCC (merchant chain code) dependent. If the MCC doesn't align with a business that should be accepting HSA/FSAs, it could fail.

  • Yes.

    In an effort to serve as many families as possible, cancellations need to be made as soon as you are aware of any issues surrounding our agreed upon date/ time of consultation. Cancellations that are made with less than a 48 hour notice will be charged half of the cost of the consultation type that was previously agreed upon. Cancellations that are made with less than a 6 hour notice will be charged the full amount of the consultation type that was previously agreed upon.

    Note: While we understand that early days of baby's arrival and young toddlers can bring many challenges and unforeseen circumstances, we will do our best to accommodate families in a manner that still respects the preparation and planning that go into every appointment. You will be notified of any charges to your card on file before it occurs.
